I recognize yoga as an act of self love, integrity & liberation - & I believe within my whole heart that everyone deserves access to this type of empowerment, this type of healing. My goal with this space is to offer practices & private sessions for people that are affordable, inclusive & attainable.

My professional career in yoga:

I am a 500hr RYT, with an emphasis on trauma informed yoga, yin yoga, somatics, yoga for addiction & currently wrapping up my yoga therapy training. I have built several trainings out of these topics & have taught them since 2018 - also having worked at a chiropractors office, working alongside talk therapists doing EMDR work, speaking at UNO & the Nebraska Counseling Association & doing countless 1-on-1 trauma informed sessions with clients.

In addition, I have had the privilege of working alongside a wide range of diverse communities. While working with nonprofits, prisons, transitional homes, rehabilitation centers & creating the Wellness Programs at Black & Pink National - I have witnessed the immense impact these practices can have on an individual once they are accessible - in price, location, body, etc.

My name is Brit and I am a passionate and dedicated 200 hour yoga instructor whose mission is to bring the transformative benefits of yoga to communities that have historically lacked access to these practices. As a Black woman, I am deeply committed to creating inclusive and accessible spaces where people of all backgrounds feel welcomed and empowered to explore yoga.

After experiencing the transformative power of yoga, I felt called to share it with underserved communities where wellness practices are often inaccessible. My classes create a welcoming, inclusive space that promotes mindfulness, self-compassion, and resilience for people of all backgrounds. Ultimately, I aim to make yoga a tool for personal and social transformation, fostering connection and healing for everyone.

What is the Goal of Ananda Omaha?

Short Answer: These practices are a human right. When we invest in people, not punishment, our entire city heals. Let’s return these teachings to everyone — & guide our community back to its inherent wholeness.

Long Answer: We believe these practices are a human right. Gifted to us through Indian lineage & ancestral wisdom, yoga was never meant to be stripped down or priced out of reach. Everyone deserves access to the tools that help them feel at home in themselves — in their own bliss body.

Yet, too many people are shut out of the wellness world: prices too high, inclusion is too low, & teachings reduced to a workout instead of a pathway home.

When we invest in people & their wellbeing, we invest in the health of our entire community. Mental health improves, connection strengthens, & Omaha becomes a safer, more compassionate city.

It’s time to shift our resources away from punishment & harmful systems, & back towards practices that reconnect us to our truest nature — our inherent wholeness, our bliss body. Our Anandamaya Kosha.

What Kind of Community is Being Built at Ananda Omaha?

We’re creating a community where everyone belongs. We’re committed to eliminating obstacles tied to price, body, clothing, experience, identity or labels of any kind. We’re building a space where people feel welcomed in their full humanity, & where yoga is offered as a path back to ease, connection & wholeness — not just a workout.

Ananda Omaha is for all of us, & we can’t wait to grow this community together.

Get started with Ananda, today.
